ºÚÁÏÍø Breast Unit opened in December 2016, following on from The Breast Team approaching the Trustees of The Stars Appeal to seek support in launching a fundraising campaign for the new Breast Unit. Prior to the build of the Breast Unit, patients attended busy outpatient departments and moved between different areas of the hospital in one visit; which could be very anxiety provoking for patients.Ìý
Visiting the Breast Unit means that all examinations and diagnostic tests are completed under one roof, in a calming environment and space.Ìý
The Unit is named after retired ºÚÁÏÍø engineer David Brown, who made a substantial donation to the campaign. Many other generous donors have been recognised within the Unit through named rooms and a placard of all those who kindly donated to the Unit. Please see below the individual stories behind each room.Ìý
The David A Brown Breast Unit was funded by donations to the Stars Appeal Breast Cancer Unit Campaign. Amazingly, over £1million was raised and donated by local people and organisations. We are hugely grateful to each and everyone one of our supporters, including those listed below and many, many others.Ìý
Please use the drop down boxes below to explore each of the rooms named in honor of The Breast Unit.Ìý
